This is a tribute to my wonderful friend. Some people may know her as Lillian Mangiafico or as Lillian Newell.
Lillian was such a kind, caring, giving person. She volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army and with my husband and myself at the Lafayette Federated Church’s Sunshine Thrift Shop.
I remember Lillian once taking in a homeless woman, who was an alcoholic, as she didn’t want her to be sleeping outdoors somewhere.
For years, she would take various people to AA meetings and doctor’s appointments without ever expecting anything in return. She was always ready to help someone in need.
Lillian was always there for me through good times and sad times. She was someone I could count on for anything.
Lillian was a true friend whom I loved dearly and am so going to miss as I continue my journey through life now without her. I will never forget Lillian, and I will forever cherish the precious moments that we shared together.
