Support write-in candidates for Sussex-Wantage board

Voters in the Sussex-Wantage School District, you do have a choice.

While one would think that if a member of a local Board of Education who was elected in November 2023 stepped down/resigned before his or her term was up, the person with the next highest number of votes in that election would be chosen to fulfill the rest of the term.

But that’s not the way it works because of politics, which should have absolutely no bearing on a process that is supposed to be totally non-partisan.

There are three open seats for the Sussex-Wantage Board of Education. You do not need to vote for a candidate whose name is on the ballot who was handpicked and cajoled to seek the seat by a political party.

Let’s keep the influence and agenda of those who support banning books, censoring and censuring teachers and librarians, and the Moms for Liberty cult off our boards of education and away from our schools and our children.

On Nov. 5, write in Deborah Jenkins Braconi, Trevor McPherson and Stephanie McPherson for the Sussex-Wantage Board of Education.
