Seeing goodness in this world

I am the recipient of a kidney through the kindness of a family in Georgia.

Their family made the ultimate sacrifice after their loved one passed away.

Thanks to the quick action by Hackensack Hospital, that kidney made it to New Jersey and was the perfect match for me.

Dr. Goldstein, Dr. Surur and their teams took excellent care of me.

I need to also thank DaVita Dialysis Center of Newton for caring for me for two years. The dedicated staff of nurses and technicians kept me healthy while I had dialysis three times a week.

They along with Dr. Dennis Talon made it possible for me to understand my life in kidney failure. The social worker, dietitian and administration assistant helped me to live a full life. I was able to travel with their help in setting up dialysis treatments in other cities. I am so grateful for these professionals.

More importantly, my family and many friends prayed and stood by me as I traveled this path. I wake up grateful every day and I look for ways to give back to others. It is a journey like this that lets you see the goodness in this world.
