It’s time to vote for your new Sussex-Wantage school board members.
With their diverse, relevant life and career experience, Deborah Jenkins Braconi, Trevor McPherson and Stephanie McPherson are outstanding candidates for these positions.
They are committed to creating a supportive educational environment for students, parents and teachers while finding ways to improve achievement in math and reading proficiency.
What’s more, they are determined that politics should not play a part in their campaign or their duties as board members. This is a refreshing stance to hear in our current time of constant political battling.
Currently, the National Center for Educational Statistics reports the district’s math proficiency at 19 percent and reading proficiency at 45 percent. Surely this is a concern for all of us, regardless of our political affiliations.
