VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic Department named its Athletes of the Week for Week 9 of the fall 2016 season.
Junior Elise Kastner has been a steady presence in the midfield for the Vernon girls soccer team all season. Coach Carlson states that her work ethic is phenomenal. She comes to play hard every single game and in every single practice. Elise’s play typically doesn’t garner all the stat recognition but she is one of our strongest players out on the field.
Coach Carlson also says that Elise is a great role-model for the younger kids in the program.
Senior offensive/defensive lineman Vinny Rapisardi for the Vernon football team has been a leader all year for the Vikings according to Coach Tepper. He helped anchor the offensive line that allowed Vernon to gain over 400 yards in a tough 3-point loss to Morris Hills this past week. He also had 2 solo tackles, 1 sack and 2 tackles for losses.
Coach Tepper also stated that Vin’s tremendous work ethic in the weight room this past off-season has been instrumental in his success.
