Vernon honors outstanding swimmers
Vernon. The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. has named Ryan Lally of the boys' swim team and Sophia Randazzo of the girls' swimming team as Athletes of the Week for week 1 of the Winter 2019-20 season.

The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. has announced its athletes of the week for Week 1 of the winter 2019-20 season.
Senior Captain Ryan Lally of the boys; swim team won both the 50 and 100 freestyle events last week in the boys win over High Point/Wallkill Valley. Lally also won the 50 freestyle against Jefferson.
According to Coach Miller, Lally has well-defined character and is an exemplary example for his teammates.
Lally is coming off a tremendous fall season where he was an all-conference goalie for the boys’ soccer team.
Freshman Sophia Randazzo of the girls' swim team won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breastroke last week against High Point/Wallkill Valley. She was also a key member of the 200 medley and freestyle relays that finished in first place.
According to Coach Shirhall, Randazzo has made an immediate impact on the girl’s team already. She also has a strong work ethic and great attitude that will keep her successful throughout the season.
