VERNON — As a fundraiser for The Burn Center at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, some 35 teams of firefighters signed up for the annual races at Mountain Creek last Friday.
The event drew teams from across the state and as in the past the Vernon Fire Department’s team was the only one representing Sussex County.
The Vernon team completed the course in 46.16 seconds and placed 23 of the 29 teams that finished the course. This year's races marked the 29th anniversary of the event.
The race was held at the bottom of the Kamikaze expert slope and in view of the lodge and Kink.
