Little League team wins district title

After narrowly defeating Vernon, 18-17, in single-game elimination play Saturday, July 22, High Point’s 9U All Star team entered the District 20 championship game Sunday, July 23 as the third seed of four teams.
During the first round of five games in pool play, the team had beaten Colonial but the final contest was not easy.
The teams battled back and forth for six grueling innings.
With stellar defense, High Point emerged as the victor by holding off a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning to win, 12-10.
