High Point Regional High School will play host for the Fourth Annual Pretty in Pink Classic on Saturday, Jan. 11th at 7 p.m.

Home team High Point will face off against Newton High School in an independent contest that will feature both teams dressed in Pink and White uniforms.

Last year's version of the Breast Cancer Charity game raised more than $10,000 for the Susan G. Komen and Cecelia's Angel Funds and was played in front of a standing room only crowd in the High Point gym. The game was the idea of High Point graduate Taylor Smith who saw Rutgers and Tennessee play a pink game and thought it would be great to bring a similar game to Sussex County.

Senior guard Erin Woop says this year's game will be different, "This year's game will add a new twist with everyone entering the High Point gym will be provided a roll of toilet paper," senior guard Erin Woop said. "This will be Sussex County’s first ‘Toilet Paper Game’ with fans celebrating the first basket of the game by tossing their roll of toilet paper onto the court. It will be something different and exciting and it will be cool to play in a totally pink gym".

High Point's Coach Chris Dexter said his girls are really looking forward to the event,

"Last year the Pretty in Pink game was very special for a few reasons," he said. "One, we were able to raise money for two worthy causes. Second, we were able to honor cancer survivors during our halftime celebration and last we gave players on both teams an opportunity to play in front of full gymnasium. Most high school kids can only dream about that. For our kids, it was really exciting and something they will never forget."

Newton’s Senior guard Hanna Buckley jumped at the chance to play in this year's Pretty in Pink Classic.

"Our team was at last year's game, so when they asked us to play we said yes immediately," Buckley said. "A bunch of our players are friends with the High Point players from AAU basketball, so it makes the game that much more special."

Players from both teams will begin selling tickets and pink t-shirts during lunch period.

The crowd will get a chance to take a "Shot for the Cure" sponsored by Newton Toyota, with a chance to win a brand new car and large donation to the breast cancer charities.

The fifth- through eighth-grade travel basketball teams from both Newton and High Point will be on hand and dressed in pink to welcome the teams onto the floor at the start of the game and to help out with the halftime tribute to cancer survivors.

Tickets for the game are $10 with each attendee getting a Pretty in Pink T-Shirt and roll of toilet paper as part of admission. All of the money raised from ticket sales, sponsors for the game's program, T-shirt sales, 50/50 raffle and the Shot for the Cure will go directly to the Susan G. Komen and Cecelia's Angel Funds.
