Vernon - For the past five years, Mountain Creek and the Vernon Police Athletic League have joined forces in active fund-raising efforts to help fund youth and family programs. The recently completed 2005 season pass sale raised over $31,000 for the PAL. The annual sale offers reduced prices on season passes to the local community and the Ski and Snowboard Club. The Vernon PAL has the largest after-school ski program among any group at Mountain Creek, with over 400 local children from age seven through 18 participating. This year‘s total exceeds the $25,000 raised last year, as well as the stated goal of $30,000 for this season’s fund raiser. “Vernon PAL is happy to partner with Mountain Creek to provide our residents and community the lowest available ski prices while raising money for our programs and events,” said Pat Seger, assistant director of the Vernon youth group. “We would like to thank Mountain Creek for this wonderful opportunity and the community members that participated in this fundraising event.” Jorgen Brich, senior sales manager for Mountain Creek, added, “Mountain Creek is very satisfied with the outcome of this season‘ s fund raiser for the Vernon PAL. It is important to Mountain Creek to be a key supporter of the youth programs in the local community, and $31,000 will go a long way in funding the fantastic youth programs the Vernon PAL puts on every year.“ Mountain Creek has also announced that from now through the end of this season, holders of season passes from any other resort may visit Mountain Creek and receive a free lift ticket for the day.
