Youth football all-star games played
WEST MILFORD — The second annual North Jersey Youth Football League all-star game was played on Saturday, Dec. 7.
All-stars from Sussex County and West Milford football players played in three games at Macopin Middle School.
The contests is a 'pro bowl' style event with participating football players wearing their team helmets. Sussex youth teams involved were the High Point Wildcats, Kittatinny Cougars, Vernon Vikings, Wallkill Valley Rangers and Lenape Valley Patriots. All stars representing the West Milford Highlanders of Passaic County also participated. Players were mixed together and played on either the Silver and blue all-star team or the Purple and yellow all star team. Players used to playing against each other were now teammates.
The Purple all stars won two of the three games against the Silver all stars. The pee wee level (6th grade) Silver all stars shut out the Purple all stars 7-0. The super all stars (7th grade) Purple all stars beat the Silver all stars 12-0. The 8th grade level Purple all stars crushed the Silver all stars 32-6.
