The Vernon Township Woman’s Club helped the Easter Bunny spread holiday cheer by packing Easter gift bags for underprivileged and homeless children.
The clubwomen assisted with the annual Easter Basket Drive sponsored by the I A.M. Hope NJ organization (iamhopenj.org) which aims to help families and children in need.
The drive started in 1999 with 150 Easter baskets and has grown dramatically, serving up to 5,000 children throughout New Jersey this year. Woman’s Club members MJ Palmer, Karen Rothstadt, Cathy Weeks and Barbara Pfeifer filled bags with candy, toys, stuffed animals, books and other special holiday treats for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers.
