Hardyston. Bob Schultz, Hardyston’s director of public works, created a new switch that set the township’s Christmas alight on Dec. 4, to the delight of around 75 attendees.
In previous years, the lights were turned on manually, said Dana Vitz, confidential executive assistant to the township manager.
The tree lighting party commenced with a grand entrance by Santa, who rode in on a township fire truck. There were crafts for the kids and refreshments for everybody.
Hardyston Township Council and Recreation Committee hosted the ceremony, which was held at the municipal building on Wheatsworth Road.
