William H. Caldwell
William H. Caldwell, 93, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late Colin G. and Mary (Matthew) Caldwell. Mr. Caldwell moved with his family to the United States in 1929 settling in Kearney, N.J.. Prior to living in Wantage, he had been a longtime resident of Spring Hill, Fla.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving his country during WWII. For many years, he was employed as an Electrician for the Kearfott Corp. in Little Falls, N.J. Prior to working at Kearfott, he worked at DuPont Corp. in Arlington, N.J. He cherished the time he would spend at his church and sang in the church choirs of Clifton 1st Presbyterian Church and Spring Hill United Church of Christ. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife, Edith Rosa Caldwell (1978), and his second wife, Rita Schwab Caldwell (2009). He is survived by daughters Terry DeWaal and her husband, Case, of Wantage, NJ, Meredith Muirhead and her husband, John, of Bloomfield, N.J, and a son Gary W. Caldwell and his wife, Sharon, of Clifton, N.J, along with 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside interment of ashes at 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 23, 2013, at Cedar Lawn Cemetery (meeting directly at the cemetery office) McLean Blvd. and Crooks Ave. Paterson, N.J.
