Students in Tracy Powell’s Life Skills Class nurtured respect with a colorful tree.

They cut out and distributed hundreds of construction paper leaves from Vernon Township High School’s English classes, asking students to put a few words expressing what respect meant to them. Some of the answers to what respect is included, “Accepting people for who they are,” “Showing kindness to everyone you meet,” and “Everything.”
