VTHS senior spearheads effort for veterans' parking spaces
Vernon. Vernon Township High School senior originally proposed parking spaces designated for veterans and the Township Council approved the signs in September.

Veteran Parking Only signs were recently installed at the Vernon Township Municipal Center, Veterans Memorial Park and Maple Grange Park.
On Sept. 9, the Vernon Township council approved an ordinance calling for the installation of the Veterans Parking signs at the three township locations.
Hannah Van Blarcom, Miss Vernon 2019-20 and a senior at Vernon Township High School, first proposed municipal parking spaces being set aside for veterans. The spaces are marked by red, white and blue signs.
They were manufactured and installed by the Vernon Township DPW.
