VTHS artists, poets pay tribute to Carl Sandburg
Vernon. Artists and poets from Vernon Township High School submitted five paintings to the National Parks Service Exhibition at the Carl Sandburg National House Historic Site in North Carolina. The paintings were inspired by Sandburg's poetry.

Five paintings from Patricia Soriani-Bunger’s Illustration and Design class were submitted to the National Parks Service exhibition at the Carl Sandburg House National Historic Site in North Carolina.
The painters responded to poems written by Kathy Weyant’s Creative Writing Class that were inspired by Carl Sandburg’s poetry. Gabrielle Flig and Nora Jamison's poems were the poems that inspired the most creative expressions in paint.
