The Friends of High Point State Park sponsored a Trail Head Cleanup on March 26 led by Rob Oleksy, president of the volunteer group.
Oleksy was joined by his wife and avid park volunteer, April, and 12 other volunteers. It was a sunny day with a light breeze, perfect for picking up litter.
The volunteers cleaned the trail heads on Route 23 by Sawmill Road as well as Deckertown Road.
The group spent four hours picking up the trash along the roads and in the trail parking areas as well as the trailheads. They filled 10 bags of recycled trash and eight bags of household trash.
