Vernon Urgent Care moves to new location
VERNON — With Crystal Springs Resort as its landlord, Vernon Urgent Care has moved down the highway.
From its earlier Route 94 home just north of the Appalachian Hotel, the facility has moved to what used to be the southern-most corner of the parking lot across the highway from Mountain Creek’s South Lodge.
On August 12, Vernon Township Mayor Victor Marotta met with representatives of Crystal Springs Resort/Mountain Creek and Atlantic Health Care for the official opening of the new Vernon Health & Wellness Urgent Care building. The Vernon Urgent Care building is now located at 212 Route 94, a few hundred feet from the intersection of County Route 515.
According to Atlantic Health Systems, the facility is able to provide full-service health care, including laboratory and X-ray services and appointments are not necessary at the walk-in business.
Area residents will note the new location is only several hundred feet from the Atlantic Ambulance Corporation Mobile Field Office Medivac landing zone, which is at the rear of the same Mountain Creek parking lot. A helicopter flight to the Morristown Medical Center takes less than 15 minutes.
An emergency medical physician is available at all times during regular hours of operation. Services offered include health and wellness diagnostic procedures and care for acute illnesses and injuries.
Treatment for serious cuts and lacerations also includes Dermabond wound repair as a painless alternative to conventional stitches. Audiology and drug screening services also are offered. Treatment for fractures and sprains is available, as well as minor surgical procedures, a variety of physical exams, digital mammography, EKGs, and vaccinations.
Vernon Urgent Care's telephone number is 973-209-2260 with regular hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Atlantic Health Care cautions that for medical emergencies people should still call “911.” According to its website, most health insurance is accepted, however, patients should always check with their individual carriers to determine the facility’s specific participation with their health insurance plans.
