Vernon. Mishelle Downtain, Vernon Township’s director of Recreation and Community Affairs, reports a very successful Thanksgiving Turkey Trot this year – “only this time it was Free Range (virtual),” she said. Ninety five people signed up to participate on their own during Thanksgiving week, which raised $1,375 for the Harvest House Community Lunch Program, and also collected boxes filled with nonperishables for their pantry shelves. “It’s good to know that even virtually we can still connect and lend a hand to our fellow community members,” she said.
