The Skylands Dulcimer String Band will play at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23 at the Sussex-Wantage Library.
The band is composed of four musicians who play light classical, pop, traditional American and seasonal sounds on multiple instruments: A toe-tapping Celtic tune may be followed by a familiar sing-along selection.
Their instruments include hammered dulcimer, mountain dulcimer, six- and 12-string guitar, mandolin, Irish bouzouki, penny whistle, boudran frame drum, bass, Celtic harp, keyboards and cello.
Switching among instruments produces many different combinations of sounds that result in a unique blend of music.
The players love to educate the public about the more unusual instruments they play.
The performance is presented by the Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library.
