The Vernon Township High School Orchestra, under the direction of Jennifer Krott, recently hosted the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
The NJSO performed two narrated concerts as part of their Young People’s Concert Series. The first concert was for out-of-district students while the second was a complimentary concert for VTSD third-graders and instrumental students in grades four to six. They both included dialogues with the professional musicians.
The next day, four NJSO musicians (Naomi Youngstein, violin; Christine Terhune, viola; Fran Rowell, cello; and Jonathan Storck, bass) held free instrument-specific master classes for Vernon Township High School Orchestra students.
