Mountain Creek to resume its biweekly food distribution
Vernon. Local residents in need may sign up for a pick-up time during distribution days to be held every other Wednesday.

Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon will begin distributing free groceries to local residents in need every other Wednesday beginning Dec. 9.
Between 3 and 5 p.m., Mountain Creek Resort will provide pre-packaged baskets containing a week’s worth of assorted perishable and non-perishable groceries to give back to the community and help those who need them most.
Interested individuals can pre-register for a pick-up time online at mountaincreek.com/community or by emailing Kat Polizos at kpolizos@mountaincreek.com. All registrations will be anonymous and collected only for check-in purposes.
Items will available free while supplies last, and may be picked up at the resort’s Sandhill parking lot at the dedicated time.
”According to a Monmouth University poll, roughly 1 in 3 Americans has felt economic pain due to loss of income as a result of COVID-19, and low-income households have been hit hardest,” says a statement from Mountain Creek. “The staggering economic impact of the pandemic has caused a dramatic increase in the need for food. A longtime staple of Sussex County, Mountain Creek Resort hopes to continue to find ways to give back to its community during these challenging times.”
