Vernon. The first Tuesday of August is National Night Out, a celebration of community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and health and wellness.
The family-friendly event was held on a cool, comfortable evening at Maple Grange Park in Vernon, where the gathering enjoyed live music, food, and fun. The event was coordinated by the Vernon Coalition, PAL, Vernon Recreation and the Vernon Chamber of Commerce.
National Night Out was created in 1984 by Matt Peskin, a young Philadelphian, and has grown to be a happening in many communities across the United States.
