Students in library classes at Lounsberry Hollow School in Vernon welcomed Olivia Amorosi, a volunteer with Love Letters for Literacy.
They learned about the program and created Literacy Packets to help young children learn to read.
Love Letters for Literacy was created 10 years ago by a middle school student in Voorhees. It asks volunteers to create alphabet cards to donate to low-income families to help their children learn to read.
Throughout the day, students created 24 packets to donate and are working on more. The packets will be donated to local organizations in Sussex County.
