Legal assistant completes day of service
SPARTA — Heather Sheurs, a legal assistant at the law firm of Laddey, Clark & Ryan, completed a day of service photographing the Morris County Adoption Day festivities at the Morris County Courthouse on Nov. 17.
November is Adoption Awareness month, with National Adoption Day being Nov. 18. National Adoption Day is a collective national effort to raise awareness of the more than 110,000 children in foster care waiting to find permanent, loving families. The courts and communities in all 50 states join to finalize thousands of adoptions and to celebrate families who adopt. The special event at the courthouse included speakers, a magician, face painting, food, cake and gifts, along with smiles, laughter, hugs and happy tears.
“Friday was one of the most humbling experiences of my life,” said Sheurs. “When I was approached about this opportunity, I quickly agreed. Being able to combine my hobby of documentary photography with my love of children seemed like a dream."
Thomas Ryan, Managing Partner commented, “Giving back to our communities is a core part of who we are at LCR. Laddey, Clark & Ryan’s Day of Service Program allows our employees to help improve the lives of those around us any way we can.”
LCR’s Day of Service is part of a growing trend for corporate volunteer programs that engage employees by providing a meaningful and valuable experience that gives back to the community.
