Sussex County Community College has named Kelsee Tironi Woman Student Athlete of the Year and has selected her to represent the college at the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport (NAGWS) recognition day to be held on Feb. 9, at Seton Hall University.

Each year, NAGWS asks all two- and four-year New Jersey colleges to select a female student athlete to represent their institution. Last year and this year, Kelsee participated on SCCC’s women’s soccer team and women’s basketball team. She has demonstrated leadership and athletic ability on the field and is a two semester Dean’s List honoree and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international community college honor society. She is a graduate of Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

“We are extremely proud of Kelsee," SCCC Assistant Dean of Athletics, Student Activities and Judicial Systems, John Kuntz stated. "On the field and in the classroom she reflects the highest ideals of Sussex County Community College in both sportsmanship and scholarship.”

SCCC offers intercollegiate competition in men’s and women’s soccer and basketball, men’s baseball, and women’s softball. SCCC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) and adheres to the rules set forth by both organizations.
