Serves on the NJ Selective Service System Local Board; NJ Fifth Congressional District Service Academy Nomination Selection Committee; the Centenary University Board of Trustees; and the Sussex County Community College Board of Trustees.
Has served in elective positions on the Sussex County Freeholder Board; the Vernon Township Board of Education; the Vernon Township Council; the Board of Trustees for the Northern NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery; the Board of Trustees for the Sussex County Charter School for Technology; and the Board of Directors for the Center for Prevention and Counseling.
Occupation: Currently retired. Has worked as an Assistant Director in the NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development; as the Special Assistant to the President of Felician University; as an Adjunct Professor at Centenary University; as a Buyer for one of America’s largest home appliance manufacturers; and as a sales representative, a Regional Sales Manager, the Corporate Customer Service Manager, and the International Sales Manager for a major specialty chemical company.
A former Major in the U.S. Air Force; currently a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Education: Has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Masters and Doctorate in Psychology.
Family: Has been married to Reba Burrell, a retired schoolteacher, for the past 53 years. Have three adult children and two grandchildren.
Top three issues: 1. Work to change the current perception of our Town as a negative place to live, and a negative place to establish a business. 2. Ensure a focused, aggressive and positive township Economic Development effort. 3. Present well thought out policies and taxpayer sensitive budgets.
