Hardyston celebrates arrival of new fire engine, which gets put to use right away

The Hardyston Fire Department members showed off their new fire truck at an Aug. 25 ceremony held at the municipal building.
”The new Rosenbauer Engine will replace a 20-plus-year-old engine, and will serve to protect our residents in Hardyston Township for many years to come,” said Mayor Brian Kaminski.
Attending last Wednesday’s ceremony were Mayor Kaminski, the Hardyston firefighters, township council, and township manager. As it happened, the firefighters got their first call for the truck while showing it off truck last Wednesday.
The 2020 Rosenbauer will be on display at Hardyston Day on Saturday, Sept. 25.
Fire chief Robert Washer said Rosenbauer is the world’s leading manufacturer of systems for firefighters and disaster protection. The new engine will be housed at Station 2 on Wits End Road in Hardyston.
The Hardyston Township Fire Department has approximately 40 active members who work out of two stations. The other station is located on Colson Terrace in Stockholm.
