Glen Meadow student wins contest

Ashlynn Aguilar, a Glen Meadow Middle School student, has won the Scope "John Fitzgerald Kennedy" national contest from the December 2013 issue.

Ashlynne, a seventh grade student in Mrs. Basso’s Language Arts class, wrote an essay comparing an article and a poem about J.F.K. Scope’s Assistant Editor, Phillip Baumgart, stated what a great job Ashlynne did supporting her ideas with text evidence and that the staff was very impressed with her entry.

Aguilar received a copy of the book, "The President Has Been Shot" by James L. Swanson, in addition to this honorable accolade.
