Glen Meadow hosts Game Night
Vernon. Glen Meadow Middle school social event was intended to integrate the fifth graders at Lounsberry Hollow school into the population of the school they will attend in September.
“Hey, you’re looking at the cards!” cried out a young man playing “War” at the Glen Meadow Middle School Game Night, March 5.
Principal Rosemary Gebhardt said it was a social event, where the students played and had a fun night. Gebhardt added the school invited Lounsberry Hollow fifth-grade students to Glen Meadow Middle School, along with the Glen Meadow sixth- and seventh-grade students, in order to help them transition to Glen Meadow.
Gebhardt also said the eighth-grade Ambassadors and National Junior Honor Society students ran the evening program.
Furthermore, she said, the students were able to socialize and mingle – with no technology.
Games were all over the school – the halls, cafeteria, and gym.
Students shot hoops and played intense Four Square and volley ball in the gym.
Others played ping pong and Corn Hole games in another hall, with the click of ping pongs and the smack of bean bags.
Families decorated picture frames together in the cafeteria, while students excitedly called out to each other and talked loudly.
Also in the cafeteria, all kinds of card games occurred, and Gebhardt manned the Skip-Bo card game.
