Rose McLaughin took first place with her Bacon Chip Brownie in the Everything Bacon Contest on Sunday, Jan. 12 at Veterans of Foreign Wars Wallkill Valley Post #8441 in Vernon.
Second place went to Christy and Sal Guccione for their potato boats with bacon, and third place to Robert Houdershieldt for a Bacon Wrap Shot Gun Shell with bacon and barbecue jam.
The post’s next culinary event will a Soup-er Bowl Cook-off from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
Make your favorite soup and purchase a table for $5. Tasting only cost $7.
The top three winners will receive prizes.
