Silvia Domenech, age 86, passed away at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Born in Havana, Cuba, Silvia came to the United States in 1967 and lived in Brooklyn, New York. Upon arriving in the United States, she worked as a licensed hairdresser and also worked as part of a dance company with a famous Latin dance choreographer. This dance company performed routinely on a show that aired on Latin channel 47 in New York during the late 1960’s. Silvia also loved to sew and was known to be a talented seamstress. She was predeceased by her siblings, Felix, Geraldine, and Edward. Silvia is survived by her husband, Jaime E. Domenech; her son, Peter Lopez and his wife Susie of Branchville; her sister, Vivian Argueta of Colorado; her grandchildren, Gwen, Stephen, Kevin, Tania, and Sean; her great grandchildren, Audrey, Caleb, Christopher, Chloe, Lucas, Daniel, MaKenna, Thatcher, and Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Entombment will follow at Newton Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Saturday prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home.
