    Ida T. Diegman, age 93, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at her residence. Born on April 13, 1920, in Havana, Cuba, to the late Felipe Manuel and Maria Teresa (Oromi) Sotelo. She moved to Barcelona, Spain, at the age of 6 months for a year before moving to the United States in 1922. She settled in Newark, N.J., and had graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark in 1938 and continued her education at Drake Business College, graduating in 1940. In 1981, Mrs. Diegman moved to Lake Glenwood in Vernon Township. She had been employed by Benjamin Moore Paint Company in Newark and was an executive secretary at Packaging Engineering Corporation and Sealol Incorporated in Cranford before her retirement. Mrs. Diegman was formally an Auxiliary member of the Newell Rodney Fiske Post #335 of Cranford and an active member of its Ladies Drill Team. She was a member of the XYZ Club, the Hardyston Seniors, and St. Jude’s Senior Club. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Leo Diegman, in 1991 and her brother, James Philip Sotelo. She is survived by her daughter, Maria E. Maglio and her husband, Victor, of Walpack and her three grandchildren, Christopher Maglio and his wife, Christen, of Long Meadow, Mass., and Timothy Maglio and Kelly Maglio, both of Sparta. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
