Doris Mae Netzer

Doris Mae Netzer, of Vernon, N.J., passed away peacefully at Newton Medical Center on Sunday, March 13, 2022. She was 87 years old.

Born to James and Veronica Moore in Paterson, NJ, she lived in Paterson before moving to Vernon Twp., N.J. in 1969.

Doris worked as a bookkeeper for Protection Mutual Insurance in Wayne, N.J. for many years, retiring in 1999. A doting wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed reading, especially mystery novels.

Doris is predeceased by her husband, Harry F. Netzer (2013) and two sisters, Arlene Wasdyke (2011) and Carolyn Wachler (2021). She is the devoted mother of David Netzer and his wife, Kim of Vernon Twp., N.J., Martin Netzer and his wife, Joann of Honesdale, Pa., and Barbara Potsel and her husband, Mike of Highland Lakes, N.J; cherished by 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and the dear sister of Diane Russman of Cedar Grove, N.J. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A celebration of Doris’ life will be Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Doris’s home at 16 Woodland Drive, Vernon, N.J.
