SCCC business professor given tenure
NEWTON. Sal Paolucci has been teaching business and economics at SCCC since 2015.
Sal Paolucci, a professor of business and economics at Sussex County Community College (SCCC), has been awarded tenure from the school.
He is the first professor to receive tenure under the presidency of Jon Connolly, who has been with SCCC since 2015.
Paolucci has been teaching at SCCC since 2015.
“Professor Paolucci is an inspiration to all who seek excellence and professionalism in their lives,” said Nancy Gallo, associate vice president of academic affairs and dean of professional studies, social sciences and STEM.
“The attainment of tenure is an amazing accomplishment and milestone in academia. As a colleague and dean, I have witnessed his outstanding contributions to his students’ success and his commitment to SCCC’s mission.”
Paolucci said, “It is a privilege to work for SCCC. I am hoping to help grow the business department even more.”
He called SCCC more than a college. “We’re more than the sum of our parts, we’re a community that works together to enrich the experience of our students and support one another when needed.”
His areas of expertise include promotional marketing, event management, e-commerce, public relations and strategic planning. He has designed and executed marketing and advertising campaigns that capitalize on market trends.
His entry into marketing came from an eBay account he set up about 20 years ago, from which he donated a portion of the proceeds to charity. His background also includes working as a marketing coordinator and marketing analyst at retail businesses.
Born in Brooklyn, Paolucci spent most of his childhood in Hampton and has lived in Montclair, Nutley and now Newton.
He holds an MBA in marketing from Montclair State. He also studied at Walden University, where he was nominated for the Academic Honors Program and completed the coursework toward his doctorate in business administration.
As the adviser of the SCCC Business and Entrepreneurial Club, he received the SCCC Club Advisor of the Year award in 2019.
“I wish to thank Dr. Connolly and Dr. Gallo for their support; Dean Sherry Fitzgerald, who gave me my first chance to teach a course; and Professor Lydia Clark for her mentorship,” he said.
