Motorcyclist dies of injuries from crash

LAFAYETTE. The motorcycle veered off the road, overturned and collided with a tree, and the driver was ejected, a State Police spokesman says.

A motorcyclist died five days after he was involved in a crash July 4 on Monroe Road in Lafayette, a New Jersey State Police (NJSP) spokesman said.

Timothy Angle of Rockaway Township died July 9 from his injuries. He was 64.

Troopers responded to a report of a crash about 6 p.m.

Based on a preliminary investigation, the spokesman said a Victory motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Monroe Road, negotiating a curve. The motorcycle veered off the road, overturned and collided with a tree, and the driver was ejected.

Angle had serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.

According to his obituary, Angle was a lifelong resident of the Mount Hope section of Rockaway Township.

He had worked for the Rockaway Township Parks & Recreation Department for 25 years, retiring in January.

He was survived by two children, his mother and three brothers, including a twin.
