Do I need to wear a helmet when I ride?

Let’s talk legally first. The law states 17 years old and under are required to wear a helmet. I consider this one of the dumbest laws out there. Just like car seat-belts I feel everybody should wear a helmet. The newest technology has brought us light and airy.
