New program at SCCC for the fall
Sussex County-A brand new library and science building, a modern art gallery and studios, and student services with a fresh new look; Sussex County Community College is growing and changing this summer. And to go along with these changes are two new options of study being offered for students beginning in the fall semester: dramatic arts and photography. The dramatic arts program prepares students for transfer to a four-year college with a major in theatre arts. The curriculum provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to work on and off-stage, as well as general education courses in the liberal arts. Students are expected to become involved in the technical, managerial, and performance aspects of theater production through participation in workshops and productions. For more information about the Dramatic Arts option contact Cheryl Reagan, Dean, Liberal Arts and Education at 973-300-2257 or at creanan@sussex.edu. Students at SCCC also can choose the new photography program under the Associate of Fine Arts degree. The Photography major can serve as a basis for careers in studio photography, teaching, illustration, and photojournalism. Students in the AFA Degree program are given the opportunity to present their work at the student art exhibit and in the Idiom & Image, as well as other college publications. For more information contact Julie McWilliams, Assistant Art Professor at 973-300-2144 or at jmcwilliams@sussex.edu. Registration is taking place now at SCCC. Classes start Septembe
