Kashmir rambles on to the Newton Theatre
NEWTON — A Led Zeppelin tribute band, Kashmir, returns to the Newtown Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 8.
With playlist staples of every classic rock station and the most identifiable voice in rock history, Kashmir’s show features Jimmy Page’s iconic double-neck guitar, John Bonham’s drum solo, the stage show of the era, and most importantly, the greatest hits of rock history.
Kashmir was started in 2002 by lead singer, Jean Violet. Violet feels he has the perfect combination of talented musicians, with vocalist Violet on harp, Andy Urban on guitar and theremin, Paul Cooper on drums and Felix Hanemann on bass and keyboards.
Urban, wearing Jimmy Page's signature dragon suit, dazzles with a bow solo in "Dazed and Confused" and the hypnotic use of the Theramin during "Whole Lotta Love." Cooper hammers out Bonham's familiar rhythms, including an authentic version of "Moby Dick." Violet sings hits such as "Rock and Roll," "Ramble On" and "Stairway To Heaven."
Tickets for Kashmir are $37 for premium seating, $32 for orchestra and $27 for balcony. Purchase tickets by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the box office at 973-383-3700.
The Newton Theatre is located at 234 Spring Street, Newton, N.J.
