VTHS honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. honored its athletes of the week for the Week 4 of the spring 2018 season.
Sophomore Catherine McCabe placed first in the 1600m and 3200m races last week against Hackettstown and Belvidere. She also placed third in the 1500m and 3000m races at the Gander Invitational Saturday at Rondout Valley HS in New York.
Catherine is also a member of the varsity soccer and swim teams.
Sophomore Vinny Dasaro is off to a 7-2 start at the first singles position for the varsity boys tennis team this season. Vinny won both matches last week against Morris Hills (6-1, 6-0) and Lenape Valley (6-0, 6-0).
He also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex Tournament with two wins in the preliminary rounds.
