McAfee FD hosts 3rd annual pig roast

Kids got to explore the fire engines.
Working in the firehouseís kitchen were Roy Metz and Tim Storbeck. Both men are McAfee residents. Metz is a firefighter and Storbeck is a tried and true volunteer.
Firefighters and Vernon residents Larry Predmore of Predmore Farms and Bob Winter worked at the grill for the McAfee Fire Department’s Third Annual Pig Roast.
VERNON — The McAfee Fire Department’s Third Annual Pig Roast was held last Saturday in and around the fire house, located at the intersection of Routes 94 and 517.
As a fundraiser for the department a steady stream of supporters came to sample the pork that was cooked in the parking lot. Fire engines were parked in the upper lot and families were given a chance to explore the inside and outside of the emergency response vehicles.
Dinner was served both inside the fire house and in the vehicle bays as well.
