DeBoer takes over as Wantage mayor

WANTAGE — William DeBoer was unanimously selected to serve as the new township mayor for 2012 at the township's organizational meeting on Jan. 2.
William Gaechter will serve as the new deputy mayor.
Ronald Bassani, who served as mayor in 2013, was sworn in as a committee member for a three-year term. He was re-elected in November.
The committee also unanimously approved the mayor’s nominations and appointments for: the Land Use Board, the Board of Health, Emergency Management Committee, professional appointments, mayor’s appointments, and the open space advisory committee
DeBoer pledged to work with the budget through keeping it intact and flat. He also dedicated himself to helping the citizens of Wantage through these tough economic times.
