Golf outing to benefit SCARC

    The Pat Romano Sr. Memorial Golf invitation is scheduled for Sept. 16 at two golf courses in the area.

    Corporate sponsors will play at Newton County Club, located at 25 Club road in Newton. The tournament will start with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. REgistration and breakfast will be from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. There will be a barbecue lunch on the course.

    Indivdiual golfers and basic foursomes will play at the Farmstead Golf & Country Club, located at 88 Lawrence Road, Lafayette. The tournament will be played at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.

    Registration and a continental breakfast will be from 7:45 until 9:15 a.m. There will be a barbecue lunch on the course.

    All golfers are expected to wear soft spikes and golf attire.

    Dinner will be at Perona Farms Restaurant, 280 Andover-Sparta Road, Andover. There will be acocktail reception at 3:30 p.m. and a buffet dinner and awards program at 5 p.m.

    Last year, the 12th Annual Pat Romano, Sr. Memorial Golf Invitational raised $226,000 for kids with developmental disabilities and their families. These contributions are integral in maintaining SCARC recreational activities and respite care for people with developmental disabilities, as well as guardianship services and pro se legal advocacy programs provided by SCARC Guardianship Services, Inc.
