Candidates file election petitions

VERNON — Incumbent Township Councilman Dan Kadish and resident Sandy Ooms entered the municipal build at the same time and filed their petitions to run for township council in November with Vernon Township Clerk Lauren Kirkman.
According to the Vernon Township Website, Kirkman’s duties include being the township’s election official who processes voter registrations and candidate petitions for municipal offices, determines the validity of petitions, designates polling places, and certifies local election results.
Kirkman said Kadish was the first candidate to file a petition. No other candidates have officially announced their intention to run. Councilman Brian Lynch previously said he will not seek re-election.
