WANTAGE — On Saturday, Pvt. Charles Auberger American Legion Post Number 213 hosted the Third Annual Sussex County Veteran’s Picnic.
About 150 veterans and their family members came out for the cookout held in their honor.
Seven World War II veterans were on hand. Each was in their late 80s or early 90s.
Hosted by U.S. Senator Cory A. Booker, Sussex County Community College will be the scene of a Veterans History Project, collecting oral histories from veterans and civilians about their involvement in U.S. war efforts. The event will take place on Thursday, August 27.
