The Shepherd's Learning Center will debut a newly re-organized program in September.

The preschool/daycare has been open under the same name since September 2011. The center will continue to provide experiences designed to enable each child to learn in a warm, caring, and sharing atmosphere.

Shepherd's Learning Center provides full or half day preschool with extended hours for childcare, as needed to children ages 2 and up. All programs provided will prepare children for Kindergarten and staff will work to individualize all programs for children so each can learn in their own way.

The center will teach all children using a developmental approach, which incorporates physical, emotional, and social components, as well as, academic curriculum and play.

The preschool program is offered Monday-Friday for three hours, either morning or afternoon for children aged 2 and up. Additional child care is available as well for those families seeking additional hours. Before and after care also is provided for children attending school-based programs, as well as tutoring for children in grades K-8.

A full-day preschool program also is available.

The Shepherd's Learning Center will be in attendance at the upcoming Children's Juice Box house at The Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, Aug. 21. This activity is a camping activity, where families are invited to participate in a overnight campout. Campfire snacks will be provided Friday evening and a campfire breakfast will be provided on Saturday. This event is free to all families and runs from 6 p.m. on Friday to 10 a.m. on Saturday. All participants need to bring is a tent, for outdoors, or sleeping items.

The learning center also will hold a make-and-take craft event on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a free event for all families. Children will create crafts to take home and will be provided light refreshments. Registration is required for this event.

The learning center is located at 200 Route 23 in Wantage at The Church of the Good Shepherd.
