Glen Meadow Middle SChool recently presented presidential awards to students.

The President’s Education Awards Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The program was developed to help schools to recognize and honor those students who have achieved high academic goals through hard work and dedication.

Students are eligible for one of two honors: the President’s Award for Educational Excellence or the President’s Award for Educational Achievement. The certificates were signed by the President, the U.S. Secretary of Education the building principal and assistant principal. A congratulatory letter from the President and lapel pin accompanied the award.

The sponsoring associations firmly believe that recognition for their efforts and achievements is vital for motivating young students to be successful and our schools must encourage all students to try harder, reach higher goals and expand their imaginations.
