    William Sytsema, 79, passed away on Monday, Aug. 4, 2015, at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover, N.J. William was born in Friesland, the Netherlands on Feb. 18, 1936, to the late Henry and Theresa Sytsema. His family immigrated to the United States in 1950. William was 14 years old. William settled in Sussex County and was a farmer and businessman.

    William was predeceased by a sister, Betty Warsen and a brother, Henry Sytsema.

    William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Glynis, his children, Linda and Peter Hamming of Martinsburg, Pa., Mary Ellen and Michael Skowronski of Lackawaxen, Pa., Elaine and Martin Van De Weert Jr. of Wantage, and H. William and Holly Sytsema of Wantage, and his 10 grandchildren, Lisa, Kristen and Mike Maust, Nick and his wife, Brenna, and Katelyn Hamming, Brian and his wife, Ashley, and Alicia Van De Weert, Halee, Will, Emma Mae, Clay Sytsema, and his siblings Sonja Kuperus, Martha Vander Wey, Harriet Kuperus, Janet Kuperus, Sijbe Sytsema, Evelyn Vander Groef, Casey Sytsema, and Susan Koetje.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Tuesday Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Sussex Christian Reformed Church 51 Unionville Ave., Sussex, N.J. Interment will be private. Visitation at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, N.J., on Monday Aug. 10, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sussex Christian Reformed Church or the Sussex Christian School would be appreciated.
