Alexandria 'Mary' Lapham

    Alexandria “Mary” Lapham, 103 years old, died after a long illness at Barn Hill Care Center, Newton, N.J., on Sunday, July 19, 2015. Born to Stanley and Anna Zietkiewicz in Newark, N.J., she grew up in Belleville, N.J., and then made her final home Highland Lakes, N.J., in 1964. Her last 10 years at the lake were lived with her daughter’s care.

    Mary was a licensed real estate broker and owned her own business, Lapham Real Estate in Vernon Twp., N.J., where she worked for 26 years before retiring in the early 1990s. She was a member of the Sussex County Board of Realtors, past president and member of the VFW Post No. 8441 Ladies Auxiliary in Vernon, N.J., served as secretary for the Sussex County Chapter of the Salvation Army Human Services, past member of Order of the Eastern Star, Lodge No. 38, Hardyston Twp., N.J., past president and member of the Belleville Women’s Club, avid bridge player for the Highland Lakes Country Club Bridge Club and a devout animal lover.

    Mary was predeceased by her husband, William N. Lapham (1981), a brother, Henry Stanley and 2 sisters, Irene Stanley and Barbara Zietkiewicz and was the devoted mother of Terry A. Taylor of Highland Lakes, N.J. Loving grandmother of Donald Taylor and his wife, Claudia of Highland Lakes, N.J. Dear great grandmother of Delilah Taylor of Highland Lakes, N.J.

    The burial office will be read from St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Vernon, NJ, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. with repast and interment following. Information at www.st-thomas-vernon.org.
